Our experts collaborate to meet the highest standards in the industry and continuously innovate. We are seeking a Market Leader, Energy (Canada East) to join our teams located in Ontario or Quebec. The Market Leader, Energy (East) oversees and leads the technical Energy practice in Eastern Canada, including leading projects and managing certain accounts and engagements, ensuring compliance with national and local regulations, and maintaining high standards of service reliability and customer satisfaction. This role supports WSP’s leadership in clean energy and power sector solutions as the world moves toward a new energy future. What you can expect to do here You will be the Technical Market Leader for Energy, reporting to the Vice-President-Energy. You will be responsible for leading and growing the Energy practice in Eastern Canada. You will act as a thought leader, applying advanced knowledge and being externally recognized as a top resource in your field. You will make decisions on highly complex issues regarding work approaches for project components and team tasks. You will anticipate business needs, secure required resources, and lead initiatives to implement change. You will provide recommendations on highly technical and complex aspects of WSP projects. You will lead certain client accounts and engagements within the Energy Group. You will support the growth of technical disciplines required for Energy and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, providing oversight and governance on major projects within the Energy team. You will provide governance on Energy projects including quality and leadership on Energy proposals. You will collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders to improve quality and project delivery, including management of subconsultants. You will mentor and coach Energy staff as required. What you’ll bring to WSP More than 10 years’ experience in a leadership role, with experience in the Energy sector. Hands-on experience with project delivery. Engineering degree in a related discipline or a technical diploma from a post-secondary institution. Proven experience in business development with an existing network in the Energy market. Strong financial and business acumen; experience with managing business operations and/or a P&L is an asset. Strong understanding of the energy sector, including industry trends and emerging technologies related to energy transformation and decarbonization. Ability to negotiate and build relationships with clients. P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation is an asset. Bilingual in both French and English is required.
