Associate Chair, Doctor of Counselling and Psychotherapy (DCP) Reporting to the Chair of the Doctor of Counselling and Psychotherapy (DCP), this newly created Associate Chair role focuses on the Applied Scholarship Project (ASP). It is a pivotal academic appointment that advances the university’s mission through excellence in teaching, research supervision, and program leadership. As the Associate Chair, DCP, you will guide curriculum delivery, support faculty development, enhance student engagement, and balance academic instruction with mentorship and operational oversight. You will take ownership of advancing student success by cultivating strategic partnerships, ensuring academic quality, and championing continuous improvement across the program. You will work closely with the Chair to keep the Applied Scholarship specialization academically rigorous, professionally relevant, and aligned with current disciplinary and industry standards. This includes contributing to curriculum quality assurance, building strategic relationships, and strengthening institutional visibility across higher education, professional associations, and community networks. Full‑time remote position within Canada with travel required for convocations and events as needed. As our new Associate Chair, Doctor of Counselling and Psychotherapy (DCP), you will: Lead. Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the ASP, ensuring efficient administrative processes aligned with the program mission. Guide the research vision, foster methodological rigor, ethical integrity, and scholarly innovation. Serve as a neutral chair for ASP defenses and execute delegated responsibilities with professionalism. Develop. Plan, design, and enhance graduate‑level curriculum and academic programming. Collaborate with Teaching Design and Assessment teams, review course content, maintain the ASP Handbook, and ensure program materials support consistency and student success. Inspire. Recruit, mentor, and support a diverse faculty community. Oversee faculty supervision of student research projects and advance instructional excellence through evidence‑based practices. Teach. Deliver approximately fifty percent of a full‑time teaching load, providing instruction in research‑intensive courses that cultivate critical inquiry and ethical practice. Lead seminars and workshops to build research competencies and prepare students for dissemination and publication. Support. Mentor students and faculty through all stages of the research process, including proposal development, ethics approvals, methodology guidance, and knowledge translation. Monitor progress, provide advising, and maintain accurate student records. Ensure. Uphold academic quality, compliance, and integrity by supporting accreditation, quality assurance, and regulatory processes. Apply institutional and regulatory standards consistently. Engage. Cultivate external community and professional partnerships to enhance applied research opportunities and student engagement. Lead the planning and implementation of a DCP Research Symposium or similar scholarly forum. Collaborate. Work closely with Student Services, Teaching and Learning, Regulatory Affairs, Admissions, and Academic Leadership to ensure coordinated delivery of academic operations. Contribute. Engage in ongoing professional and scholarly development, maintain disciplinary expertise, and participate in accreditation reviews, self‑study reporting, and curriculum initiatives. You have: The education. Earned doctoral degree in Counselling, Psychology, Psychotherapy, or a closely related discipline. Eligible for a full clinical practice licence and committed to lifelong professional learning. The academic and professional experience. Distinguished record of applied practice and educational leadership. Demonstrated success in master’s or doctoral‑level instruction and support for diverse learners with inclusive, evidence‑informed pedagogies.
