Alberta Health Services, Central Zone, and the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Drumheller Health Centre, invites applications for an Obstetrician & Gynecologist to establish a full-timepractice in the community of Drumheller. This position requires a scope of practice that includes: Community Clinic, Complete Gynecological and Obstetrical Surgeries, Consults in the Emergency Department, Acute Care, Long Term Care andSpecialist On-Call Coverage. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Reside in and have their primary residence within the community of Drumheller; Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services; Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies; Establish and maintain full time community based practice within the community; Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including full time participation in the Obstetrics and Gynecology call schedule, as required. Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology; Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs; Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned; Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care Once chosen, the successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing independent outpatient practice or form an independent outpatient office of their own. This is the candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process. Required Qualifications: Have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (required with application); Have or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC); Have specialty certification or equivalent in Obstetrics & Gynecology, or currently be enrolled in an Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program; Recent and relevant experience in all areas of practice required; Managing Obstetrical Risk Efficiently (MOREOB) / Advances in Labour and Risk Management (ALARM); Desired Qualifications: Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply and we thank all applicants for their interest; only those individuals selected for an interview will be contacted.
