These pathologies will be examined from an integrative perspective encompassing the pathogeneses, resulting symptoms, and current therapeutic approaches. This course requires critical examination of research articles. Minimum Qualifications: Successful candidates should be near completion of their Ph.D. Candidates should also have experience in teaching topics in pathologies affecting the nervous system as outlined in the calendar description and be familiar with the most recent literature in the field. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience teaching Pathologies of the Nervous System at UTSC is an asset. Duties: Specific duties include designing and delivering lectures, guiding student discussions and assessing oral presentations, designing and marking writing assignments, preparation of a term test, final exam, marking/grading, office hours and miscellaneous clerical tasks. Please note all course elements are in person at the UTSC campus. There are no hybrid options in the Department of Biological Sciences at UTSC for lectures, tutorials, laboratories or exams. This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. It is understood that some announcements of vacancies are tentative, pending final course determinations and enrolment. Should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement. Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
