Base pay range CA$50.00/hr - CA$75.00/hr Position Overview Our client is seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Senior Software Engineer to support and enhance their Quality Control Software Systems. In this role, you will participate in the full software development lifecycle, building new features and products within the Quality Control Application Suite. The team develops microservices for Industry 4.0 applications deployed both on-premises and in AWS environments. Key initiatives include Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) integrations and Machine Learning Vision Systems. You will also participate in fixed production support rotations and regularly interface with end users on the production floor to understand operational requirements. This role is part of a collaborative SCRUM team and requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. Core Technical Requirements Candidates must possess strong knowledge in at least two of the following: Relational Databases: PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server Minimum 2+ Years’ Experience in Most of the Following Infrastructure & DevOps Caching: Redis Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP Web & Application Development Angular or other SPA frameworks Software Development & Tools Version control: Git, SVN Event-driven architecture Developing multi-threaded and concurrent applications Asynchronous programming Software architecture & design patterns Networking fundamentals and socket programming DevOps & Infrastructure Management Build, deployment, and maintenance tools (IIS, Windows Servers, Build Tools) Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins Operating systems: Windows, RHEL Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with object detection and image classification Familiarity with ML models such as YOLO, SSD, Faster R‑CNN Model optimization and deployment experience Additional Development & Integration Skills Java Embedded systems Signal and image processing Role Profile The successful candidate will take business concepts directly from end users and translate them through Agile methodologies into production-ready, mission-critical software. The environment operates like a startup—fast-paced, innovative, and focused on creating high-value industrial solutions using modern technologies such as containers, Kubernetes, and AWS. The role requires strong engineering fundamentals, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to independently drive solutions from requirements to deployment.
