Your Day To Day Oversee the execution of assigned banquet events to ensure optimum performance, superior guest service, and maximum profitability of all functions. Maintain quality, service, and operating standards, adhere to health and safety regulations, and serve as Banquet Manager in his/her absence. Responsibilities and Duties Manage the activities of a banquet shift, scheduling and assigning work to ensure proper coverage. Recommend and/or initiate staffing actions in accordance with company rules and policies. Ensure all staff is properly trained and equipped to carry out their job functions. Ensure rooms are set‑up and service delivery meets guest expectations and banquet event order. Conduct pre‑function meetings and review all pertinent information. Coordinate with Kitchen staff to review scheduled groups’ menu, delivery times, and arrangements. Coordinate AV and other technical needs. Greet guests on arrival. Respond to requests and complaints promptly, making appropriate service recovery gestures to ensure total satisfaction. Review guest check with client after the function and obtain signature. Maintain procedures for security and proper storage of banquet inventory, equipment, finances, supplies, uniforms, and minimize misuse. Assist in controlling departmental labor and expenses; contribute to the annual operating budget. Prepare equipment for the following day’s work; ensure all banquet facilities are clean, vacuumed, and stocked. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with Sales & Marketing, Catering, Outlets, Housekeeping, Accounting, Maintenance, and Guest Services. Interact with outside contacts: Guests – to ensure their total satisfaction Vendors – to ensure adequate inventory, discuss pricing, resolve performance issues Regulatory agencies – regarding safety and compliance matters Other contacts as needed (Professional organizations, community groups, local media) May assist in reviewing par levels for supplies and equipment and completing requisitions. May handle incoming/outgoing boxes and exhibit materials. May serve as Manager on Duty. May assist banquet staff with their job functions during peak periods. Accountability Typically supervises a large number of banquet employees in a large full‑service, luxury or resort hotel with banquet capacity of more than 500 people; may oversee subordinate supervisors. What We Need From You Education High school diploma or equivalent and two years’ experience in banquets or food and beverage operations, including one year of supervisory experience. Some college or formal training in food and beverage operations preferred. Must speak fluent English. Other Requirements Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, employees, and third parties. Strong reading, writing, and basic math skills for paperwork, reports, and budgeting. Problem‑solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities. Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Physical Requirements Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. Moving around function areas. Handling objects.
