We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with design and construction expertise to lead a Halifax‑based DCC team. Team Leader – Construction Services The incumbent provides leadership in the management of architectural and engineering consultant contracts, ensuring compliance with service line policies, procedures, and contract‑related risks. The incumbent leads a team of professionals, manages the human resources responsibilities for the team and fosters strong relationships with Client‑Partners and consultants. The incumbent develops creative solutions and ensures the team is focused on collaboration, quality and timeliness of deliverables. Key Responsibilities Oversee a team managing construction, professional services and service contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, and DCC contract management policies and processes Solve complex problems within delegated authority Facilitate contract‑related coordination and communications between stakeholders (e.g., contractors, consultants, Client‑Partners) Promote and manage business development opportunities Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client Partners and/or stakeholders Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client‑Partner expectations Manage risk Perform human resources functions (e.g., coach, supervise, mentor, plan and allocate resources, and manage performance) Other duties as assigned Skills & Knowledge Best practices, methods, trends and legislation in construction, architecture and engineering Best practices and trends in financial management and human resources management Procurement mechanisms Project, contract and risk management principles Health and safety management Formal Education & Experience Minimum: college diploma in engineering, architecture or related field with five years’ relevant experience, or the equivalent Abilities Use applicable computer software and operating systems Apply project, contract and risk management techniques Demonstrate leadership and human resources management skills Leadership Development Lead and manage direct reports Provide functional direction and advice to other employees and to Client‑Partners Working Conditions Typical office environment with occasional travel Some work may be located on construction sites; incumbent may occasionally be required to wear basic safety equipment Benefits Working with us offers excellent opportunities for growth and advancement—and entitles you to one of the job market’s best benefits packages valued at between 25 % and 30 % of your salary.
