Overview Environmental Project Manager role at AECOM. Hybrid work permitted in Mississauga, Markham, or Kitchener offices. Work on diverse projects across industrial, mining, waste management, oil and gas, municipal, provincial, and federal sectors with multi-discipline engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and project management on environmental assessment, on-site and excess soil management and remediation projects. Oversee project performance, ensuring compliance with scope, budget, and schedule. Develop strategic proposals and budgets for new opportunities and for bid solicitation requests for proposal (RFP) and request for tender (RFT). Serve as the client liaison, ensuring strong relationships and high client satisfaction. Communicate regularly with regulators, clients, and internal technical teams (geotechnical, hydrogeological, civil, water, transportation, structural). Prepare and review technical reports, regulatory submittals, and project documentation. Lead and mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of safety and excellence. Supervise subcontractors, field staff, and multidisciplinary technical teams. Exhibit personal safety leadership in all aspects of project execution. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical, Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline. Minimum six (6) years of experience in contaminated sites, environmental remediation and/or reclamation projects. Proposal writing, job scoping and project plans. Familiarity with local, provincial and federal environmental regulations and permitting requirements, particularly Ontario Regulation 153/04 and 406/19 Excess Soil. Proven experience managing Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments. At least 3 years of proven project management experience. Valid driver’s license. Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of relevant industry experience. Professional designation (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) in Ontario or the ability to become a Qualified Person, Environmental Site Assessment (QPESA), as per Ontario Regulation 153/04. Experience with regulatory applications and documentation in Ontario. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and client management abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word. Willingness to adopt and learn digital tools, including AI-based solutions. Positive, proactive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Compensation and Additional Information Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
