Talent Acquisition Lead @Galent (Formerly Diamondpick Inc) | Expert in Recruitment- US | Canada Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid, 4 days onsite) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Guidewire Developer to join our team in delivering core insurance system enhancements for Banking client's Property & Casualty (P&C) business. This role will be responsible for designing, building, configuring, integrating, and supporting solutions on the Guidewire InsuranceSuite (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong P&C insurance domain background, hands‑on development/configuration experience in Guidewire, and familiarity with technologies like Java, REST/SOAP web services, and integration frameworks. Key Responsibilities Participate in scrum/agile teams to deliver features/enhancements on the Guidewire platform (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) for TD Bank’s P&C business. Review and analyse business requirements and translate into technical design, leveraging out-of-the-box Guidewire features and custom solutions where required. Configure and customise Guidewire modules: rules, product model, data model, UI (PCF), workflows, integrations using Gosu/Java as needed. Design, build and unit test code/integrations; write GUnit/Unit tests and aim to increase code coverage. Implement and support integrations between Guidewire and other systems (REST/SOAP web services, messaging, data layers) as part of the ecosystem. Prepare technical documentation (design, configuration, integrations, deployment) and support knowledge transfer to production support teams. Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce best practices within the team. Support defect triage, system testing, integration testing, and ensure timely resolution of issues. Maintain knowledge of Guidewire releases, P&C insurance domain trends and drive enhancements accordingly. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience, with at least 4+ years working on Guidewire (any suite) in P&C insurance domain. Strong experience in Java (or equivalent), web services (REST/SOAP), and working in an agile/scrum environment. Experience configuring and customising Guidewire modules—for example PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter (product model, rules, workflows, PCF) and familiarity with Gosu. Familiarity with integration frameworks (e.g., message queues, cloud integration frameworks) and ability to work with databases (Oracle/SQL). Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them to technical design. Good communication and collaboration skills; experience working in cross‑functional teams and mentoring others. Desirable: Experience with Guidewire Cloud (or cloud‑hosted deployments), code coverage tools, modern DevOps practices (CI/CD). Preferred / Nice-to-Have Insurance domain knowledge in Property & Casualty (P&C), especially product configuration, rating, claims processing. Experience on large scale upgrades (e.g., from older version to Guidewire v10+). Experience working in North American insurance market and familiarity with regulatory/compliance context.
