This role collaborates with the legal team, supports private and commercial banking clients, and requires operating in a complex, evolving environment where legal, regulatory and reputational risks must be constantly considered. Responsibilities Handle daily internal requests from stakeholders. Provide timely legal advice and triage to the appropriate internal group when necessary. Adopt a risk‑based approach and efficiently advise on a variety of matters (e.g., production orders, summons, seizures, Marevas, Norwich, succession issues, powers of attorney, fraud). Conduct legal research using diverse tools; manage or supervise less complex litigation cases, including small claims. Support and prepare witnesses. Work independently on special projects related to legal and regulatory matters. Collaborate with and support internal legal counsel. Assist with regular reporting and prepare pertinent presentation material as needed. Qualifications 7 years of experience or more; strong tech skills (iManage, OneDrive, SharePoint, Relativity, MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Westlaw). Knowledge of both civil law and common law is a major advantage. Ability to review procedural documents and communicate effectively with legal and non‑legal staff; filter reports for distribution and work on assigned special projects. Experience in legal research, document summarization and data analysis. Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. High attention to detail; often the first or sole legal professional to evaluate a particular legal issue. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Superior skills in topic management, organization and writing. Ability to receive general guidance and manage projects autonomously. Capable of working in a fast‑paced, constantly evolving environment. Fluent in English and French. Salary & Compensation $69,000.00 – $129,000.00 (salary) The salary range reflects location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications. It may include commission structure for part‑time or commission‑based roles. Total compensation may include performance bonuses, discretionary bonuses, and other benefits.
