Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for a Civil Engineer with a diverse background in infrastructure and/or oil and gas to join our group in Calgary. As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with the team and plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of civil projects. A Day in the Life Perform civil design for a variety of projects such as infrastructure upgrades and subdivision developments, including design and construction of water, sewer, drainage, and transportation infrastructure A strong background in water resources is preferred Provide technical guidance to a team of EITs and designers to deliver preliminary to detailed design drawings and specifications Carry out estimates of project costs, analysis and calculations, design review, preparation of reports and contract documentation Interface directly with clients, team members, contractors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations Ensure completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets to high quality standards Assist in creating a work plan that includes a schedule, milestones, control, and risk factors Proactively resolve performance, scope, and schedule issues as they arise What You’ll Bring to the Team Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (other disciplines encouraged to apply if practicing Civil Engineering) Must be registered (or eligible to register) as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the province of Alberta 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in municipal infrastructure and/or oil and gas projects Experience with modelling tools such as Infoworks, ICM, HEC-RAS, Mike Plus or similar modelling software would be considered an asset Experience in hydraulic analysis and design is also considered an asset Strong project management, technical and analytical skills Strong technical writing skills demonstrated through experience in the preparation of correspondence, reports and proposals Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; able to mentor and work with junior engineers and designers Good organization skills and strong attention to detail What’s in it for you?
