Overview We’re looking for a deeply experienced Staff Software Engineer to serve as the technical anchor for our Infrastructure and Platform team, partnering closely with our senior engineering leadership to deliver a highly resilient, scalable, and developer-friendly platform. This is a pivotal role focused on driving technical strategy, implementing foundational systems, and up-leveling engineering excellence across our stack. You’ll lead initiatives that ensure our platform can support our next phase of growth, from deployment automation and observability to system performance and fault tolerance. What You’ll Do Set the Technical North Star: Design and evolve our infrastructure, architecture, and platform capabilities to enable safe, scalable, and high-velocity development across all teams. Drive Resilience & Reliability: Lead efforts to harden the platform against failures, introduce chaos testing, improve observability, and enable progressive delivery at scale. Empower Engineering Teams: Build internal tools, deployment workflows, and shared services that dramatically improve developer productivity and reliability by default. Hands-On Systems Building: Ship infrastructure-as-code, write automation, and contribute to the underlying services powering our platform (Kubernetes, CI/CD, monitoring, etc.). Mentor & Influence: Set the bar for technical excellence and mentor engineers across teams. Drive cross-functional collaboration and advocate for platform-first thinking. What We’re Looking For 8+ years of experience in software development (Staff/Principal level), with a strong background in infrastructure, platform engineering, or SRE roles in high-scale environments. Deep experience with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, CDK) and platform tooling that supports resilient, observable systems. Proven success leading large, cross-cutting technical initiatives, with strong systems thinking and a pragmatic, business-aligned mindset. Strong programming skills in at least one backend language (e.g., Go, Ruby, Python) and familiarity with CI/CD systems, monitoring stacks, and infrastructure automation. Strong communication skills; able to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and drive alignment in cross-functional settings. Passion for mentorship; committed to growing and inspiring engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
