Regional Director, West Provinces role at Health Standards Organization (HSO) Terms: Full-time Permanent | Salary: Commensurate with experience | Location: Remote (Canada) | Accommodation for hybrid work model (Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto) About the Role The Regional Director, West Provinces is a member of the HSO Client and Assessment Services team and the organization’s leadership team. The Regional Director reports to the Managing Director, Client and Assessment Services, and will lead and enable a team in the delivery of quality accreditation experience and strategies for Canadian hospital and health system clients across British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. The Regional Director will find new and innovative ways to create and deliver value to health care systems. As Regional Director, West Provinces, you will lead the strategy and design to drive a business plan with a strong focus on excellence in service delivery to foster client retention and market expansion. You are comfortable working in a matrix environment to elevate and adapt existing services to meet the needs of the British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan healthcare landscapes. Your clinical expertise and understanding of how Health Authorities operate are valuable assets and inform your strategic approach. As Accreditation Canada’s ambassador, you’ll cultivate trust with executives, clinicians, and policymakers. You will foster strong stakeholder relationships, elevate delivery of services, and nurture enduring partnerships to enrich the broader healthcare landscape. Main Responsibilities Drive the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and timelines. Provide leadership and direction to the Client organizations & Reporting teams. Develop medium to long range plans and prepare strategies to secure, grow and diversify the relationship with a defined group of existing customers. Build relationships with staff, clients, partners, stakeholders and operational committees; rally them to contribute to our goals and success. In collaboration with senior leadership, develop and execute regional plans and growth strategies. Landscape Knowledge Ensure ongoing environment scanning to understand emerging trends and issues linked to different jurisdictions and clients’ context. Stay updated with industry regulations, standards, and best practices in West provinces, always ensuring quality and compliance. Proactively keep informed about new developments, build capacity, and create strategic plans within a specific sector of health services to stay ahead of the competition. Operational Excellence Play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution and delivery of programs and services. Overcome operational obstacles to ensure efficient program delivery and high client organizations’ satisfaction. Monitor and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement. Coordinate resources and implement best practices to achieve the established targets for client experience and retention. Collaborate with stakeholders, manage risks, and facilitate effective communication within different business units throughout the product lifecycle. Collaboration And Partnerships Partner with different stakeholders including government and policy makers. Identify with clients and assess their unique needs through an understanding of their performance indicators, culture and the context of their organization. Team Development Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration within the department. Address operational challenges to ensure programs are delivered efficiently. Act as the liaison for enterprise-wide collaboration with other business units to achieve shared goals. Implement key business decisions and initiatives in collaboration with the leadership team. Must Have Qualifications Master’s degree or PhD in related field. An equivalent combination of work experience and education will be considered. Clinical background is considered an asset. 7 plus years of progressive experience. Strong transformative leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop teams. Ability to mentor, teach and train; simplify complex needs and issues. Strategic, innovative mindset and ability to champion the delivery of exceptional customer experiences in health systems, ensuring consistency in service quality. Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills in facilitation, conflict resolution, consensus-building and negotiation. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Tried and tested analytical and critical-thinking skills. Demonstrated knowledge of the West provinces’ landscape business opportunities and market trends. Desired Qualifications Extensive knowledge and understanding of the functionality of health authorities and community specialized organizations in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
