Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager reports to the Store Manager and supports daily store operations, staff management, customer satisfaction, product quality, maintenance, and safety compliance. Responsibilities Assist store management in supervising daily operations. Act as acting Store Manager in their absence. Participate in key personnel activities—interviews, promotions, reviews, and disciplinary actions, when requested. Provide direction, guidance, and instruction to all store associates as needed. Maintain store conditions to established standards. Help create weekly staffing schedules to meet business needs. Coordinate with other store departments to ensure proper information flow and clear expectations. Greet and assist customers, modeling exemplary conduct for staff. Enforce company policies and applicable legislation consistently. Handle customer complaints, escalating them appropriately. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations. Assist in inventory management. Perform other duties as required. Requirements Valid SellSafe Certification. Minimum 3 years retail experience. At least 2 years supervisory experience in retail. Service orientation. Excellent time‑management and prioritizing skills. Ability to train and motivate staff. Skills to monitor and assess staff performance. Basic office administration skills. High proficiency with Microsoft Office. Effective teamwork skills. Strong verbal and written communication with all levels. Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills. Diplomatic approach. Comprehensive understanding of health and safety legislation. Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude. Availability for any shift, Monday to Sunday, including nights, holidays, weekends, and different locations.
