Intermediate Mechanical Engineer

Intermediate Mechanical Engineer - Power Generation Join WSP in Canada as an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer in our Energy division. This role involves designing mechanical systems for power generation projects across the country. What you can expect to do here: Design mechanical piping and equipment for renewable and fossil power generation facilities Prepare mechanical equipment and packaged equipment specifications and data sheets, RFQs, and technical bid evaluations Review mechanical equipment vendor drawings and data. Interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, and detailers/designers Ensure effective communications with other engineering disciplines Prepare construction/installation scopes of work for mechanical systems Participate in the development of PFD’s and P&ID’s Perform piping design activities including sizing, pressure drop calculations, stress analysis, and pipe support design Mentor and guide less experienced engineers What you’ll bring to WSP: University Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering 5+ years of mechanical engineering design experience within the EPCM environment, ideally with a focus on industrial facilities Currently licensed professional engineer (P.Eng, Ing, PE) in your province of practice Experience within the consulting environment desired Previous experience with power plant or renewable natural gas plant design desired Working knowledge of Microstation or AutoCAD Working knowledge of Smart Plant 3D or CADworx Experience using Caesar II or AutoPipe Experience using Thermoflow Why choose WSP?
