Assistant Store Manager at UFA Department: Operations - Alberta Employment Type: Full-Time Requisition ID: 1377 Date Posted: December 1, 2025 Closing Date: December 15, 2025 or until filled Job Summary Reporting to the Sr. Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager assists and supports the Store Manager with all functions related to store operations, including the direct supervision of in‑store and yard employees. The Assistant Store Manager ensures company objectives are met and UFA policies are adhered to, and performs management functions in the Store Manager’s absence. Responsibilities In conjunction with the Store Manager, ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures pertaining to payroll, financial controls, budgeting, and protection of company assets. Ensure accuracy and adherence to all standard POS processes and interim processes established for special promotions. Complete company policies, best practices, and certifications in a timely and efficient manner. Assist the Store Manager with UFA’s safety culture; help achieve UFA’s safety targets through training, coaching, monitoring, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with the Store Manager on daily operations and supervision, including motivating and coaching staff to meet and exceed store sales targets. Ensure staff are qualified and properly trained for their tasks or equipment assigned. Deliver on daily start‑up checklists and tasks; ensure short‑term maintenance tasks are completed on time and to quality standards to maximize operating availability and efficiency. Assist in maintaining the visual presentation of products and accessories, ensuring compliance with corporate visual presentation and merchandising directives. Collaborate with operations, merchandising, and business support to operate with UFA standard operating procedures. Act as the Store Manager in his or her absence. Qualifications Grade 12 Diploma with one to three years of progressive supervisory experience focused on sales and customer service in a business‑to‑business environment. Market awareness of customers and segments, and sensitivity to changing market factors. Strong people and leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, delegation, direction, reward, and recognition. High energy, positive attitude, and enjoyment of working with people. Computer competence, with emphasis on POS systems and business‑intelligence reporting functions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Required to obtain WHMIS, TDG, and forklift operator training to work in yard environments. Must remain current with all required certifications. Is a safety‑sensitive position as will be on site at UFA facilities and will be using UFA material‑handling equipment.
