Plant Superintendent II

Overview Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Plant Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day manufacturing and order fulfillment activities at the plant facility while maintaining efficient production in desired quality and quantity. This position leads the Plant Production Team in achieving key performance indicators for safety, environment, quality, customer service and cost. Responsibilities Demonstrates leadership to production supervisors and hourly employees to ensure consistent quality of work. Oversee production operations assuring quality and adherence to production specifications to meet customer expectations and business objectives. Accountable to achieve the assigned business metrics including yield, labour efficiency, sanitation and overhead expenses. Ensures the fulfillment of customer orders within the specifications. Maintains effective communication of expectations and goals throughout the plant environment. Accountable for a safe working environment through the development of strategies focused on accident reduction as well as energy and waste minimization. Ensure compliance to all OHS and environmental regulatory and corporate standards. Investigate and identify root causes of any non-compliance. Monitors effective deployment of human resources throughout the plant and ensure the correct administration of the collective Bargaining Agreement. Assume the responsibilities of the Plant Manager in their absence. Qualifications Degree in business administration or engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the meat processing industry demonstrating increasing responsibility and success in various roles, or equivalent combination of experience and training. Proven experience in, and ability to manage within the terms and conditions of the collective agreement(s) and corporate human resources policies. Knowledge of computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheets. Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Critical thinker with the ability to develop and initiate action plans to meet deadlines and achieve results while respecting core values. Strong business acumen coupled with an ability to translate business strategy into practical application. Collaborative leadership qualities with the ability to solicit advice from their team and the ability to take charge, show initiative, and make sound business decisions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
