Family Physician – Fraser South Join to apply for the Family Physician – Fraser South role at First Nations Health Authority . FNPCI Initiative The First Nations‑led Primary Care Initiative (FNPCI) aims to improve access to primary health‑care services for First Nations people across BC in a culturally safe and community‑based manner. The initiative is part of the province’s primary care strategy and integrates team‑based care throughout B.C., including the creation of primary care networks in partnership with Regional Health Authorities. About the Centre The Fraser South First Nations Primary Care Centre (FS‑FNPCC) will provide holistic, wrap‑around care for Indigenous people through a network of Service Hub locations in Abbotsford and Seabird Island and spoke sites, including primary care, mental health and traditional wellness services. The centre will initially operate Monday‑to‑Friday during regular business hours. About the Role The Family Physician will be the most responsible provider for a patient panel but is expected to collaborate in team‑based care and support both Western and Traditional Wellness approaches. A minimum panel size of 650 per 1.0 FTE is typically expected by year 3. The Physician will travel on a pre‑arranged schedule to different sites to be available for appointments within the community. Responsibilities The Family Physician will practice with cultural humility, providing primary care in a culturally safe, team‑based environment that recognizes the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the client and family to deliver whole‑person care, in compliance with BC health and wellness regulations and standards. Qualifications You are passionate about supporting First Nations individuals and families on their health and wellness journeys; You have an active practising licence in good standing with the College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC); You have training in Cultural Safety & Humility or are willing to undertake this training; Ideally you have experience working with First Nations people and communities and providing culturally safe care. Current valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites throughout the Fraser Salish region.
