Senior Analyst, Global Manager Research

Senior Analyst, Global Manager Research (GMR) conducts initial and ongoing research, analysis and due diligence of investment managers offering mutual funds, separately managed accounts, exchange traded funds and sub‑advisory relationships. The role oversees a list of approved managers for the various investment businesses supported by GMR. This senior position is part of a 30‑person team across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Asia supporting an asset base over $650 billion USD. Responsibilities Conduct initial and ongoing research and due diligence on investment managers in supporting recommended lists used by RBC’s global platforms Provide clear and timely insight, information, and opinions on investment managers through published reports and verbal/audio communication channels Assume a leading and active role on investment committees, including providing ideas and investment recommendations, in support of the management of a suite of internally‑managed multi‑asset portfolios offered in RBC’s global businesses Assist advisors in business development efforts with ultra‑high‑net‑worth clients through presentations, in‑person meetings, audio and video interactions and other engagements Foster strong cross‑border collaboration among the four GMR teams and its key stakeholders Represent GMR internally and externally in individual and/or group meetings (e.g., branch office visits, symposiums, conferences, and client meetings) Act as an expert for important and highly visible business development opportunities and other speaking engagements, including important recruiting, client, and internal partnerships Mentor, coach and develop staff to enhance research capabilities across the team Must Haves Minimum of 5 years of work experience, including at least 2 years of experience in roles related to investment research Solid understanding of key investment products and concepts including portfolio management, investment strategy (asset allocation), and investment structures (i.e., mutual funds, SMAs, ETFs) Demonstrated ability to lead by example and operate at a high level with little oversight and direction from other colleagues Proven skill in delivering credible presentations and recommendations to a variety of audiences Advanced interpersonal, written and oral communication skills Nice‑to‑Have CFA/CAIA designation and/or advanced educational degrees Undergraduate degree in business (preferred focus in finance, accounting, economics, math, or statistics) Advanced use of investment analytical tools including Morningstar Direct, eVestment and other research tools What’s in It for You A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, commissions, and stock where applicable Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities Ability to make a difference and lasting impact Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team Flexible work/life balance options Opportunities to do challenging work Opportunities to take on progressively greater accountabilities Access to a variety of job opportunities across business Job Skills Communication Critical Thinking Detail‑Oriented Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Financial Regulation Fund Analysis Interpersonal Relationship Management Personal Development Personal Initiative Quantitative Methods Additional Job Details Address: RBC CENTRE, 155 WELLINGTON ST W:TORONTO City: Toronto Country: Canada Work hours/week: 37.5 Employment Type: Full time Platform: WEALTH MANAGEMENT Job Type: Regular Pay Type: Salaried Posted Date: Application Deadline: Applications will be accepted until 11:59 PM on the day prior to the application deadline date above Inclusion and Equal Opportunity Employment At RBC, we believe an inclusive workplace that has diverse perspectives is core to our continued growth as one of the largest and most successful banks in the world.
