Business Systems Analyst

JOB STATEMENT: The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing business and operational systems with a strong focus on data analysis, business analysis, and system performance. The role translates business requirements into technical specifications, ensures quality delivery through collaboration with development and QA teams, and provides insights using key metrics such as SQL-based analysis, API performance, data integrity, and SLA compliance. RESPONSIBILITIES: Business Analysis & Strategy Partner with stakeholders to gather and validate business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Facilitate workshops, requirements sessions, and stakeholder interviews to ensure alignment of business goals and IT delivery. Define and document business processes, use cases, user stories, and workflows. Support business case development and cost-benefit analysis for proposed initiatives. Data Analysis & Insights Use SQL and reporting tools to analyze large datasets, validate system outputs, and identify trends or anomalies. Monitor and report on data-driven KPIs such as API response times, throughput, latency, error trends, and SLA adherence. Build and maintain dashboards and visualization reports for decision-making. Conduct root cause analysis and data quality assessments, recommending remediation strategies. Apply forecasting, predictive modeling, and advanced analytics to support business decision-making. Projects Lead or support projects including API integrations, data migrations, system upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives. Produce project documentation: business cases, requirements, technical specifications, data flow diagrams, and test plans. Coordinate across stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope. Track and report on project progress, risks, and dependencies. Operational Support Collaborate with QA to design and execute functional, performance, and regression tests. Provide user support, training, and system documentation. Ensure data governance and compliance standards are followed across business units. QUALIFICATIONS: 10 years' direct program, project and delivery management experience in the Investment Industry, with an experience towards the front, middle or back-office systems. College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, financial services, or management information systems. Strong experience in requirements gathering, process modeling, and stakeholder management. Proficiency in developing use cases, user stories, and business process flows. Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Advanced SQL skills for querying, optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning. Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, and data quality frameworks. Proficiency with visualization/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik. Ability to conduct trend analysis, forecasting, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics. Working knowledge of network hardware, cloud/SAAS protocols, and standards Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.
