SLC Management offers a mix of in‑office and virtual work, with employees usually working at least three days in office each week, with flexibility according to business and client needs. Job Description Associate Director, Valuations – SLC Management What is in it for you Reporting to the Managing Director, Valuations, the successful candidate will oversee the daily securities valuations process with a focus on vendor‑provided fixed‑income and exchange‑traded prices. The ideal candidate is a motivated transformational change agent who creates efficient and effective operational processes that support all downstream consumers of valuation data, including external clients. Success in this role requires a high degree of collaboration, senior‑level communication, change management, commitment to establishing and overseeing daily processes and controls, and experience in working with various third‑party valuation providers across all asset classes. The Associate Director will build deep relationships across SLC and act as a consensus builder that influences and drives business outcomes with internal and external stakeholders. What you will do Lead in developing a centralized valuations team and manage at least one direct report Perform independent valuations on securities ranging from basic to highly complex instruments such as structured products and illiquid assets Review third‑party vendor valuation output and collaborate with external valuation experts as needed Document valuation procedures, assumptions, and conclusions clearly for financial reporting and audit purposes Analyze market data such as prices, yields, volatilities, and correlations to determine appropriate inputs into valuation models Maintain a control environment to identify price challenges, stale prices, missing prices, and review day‑over‑day price changes proactively Present valuation findings and recommendations to senior management Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and valuation best practices through ongoing education Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior analysts Communicate to a wide variety of audiences at all organizational levels Develop creative client‑centered solutions, multiple alternatives and approaches Address process breakdowns quickly, identify the source of problems, and develop solutions that eliminate wasted effort and inefficiencies across teams Raise difficult issues to encourage discussion, contribute to solutions and incorporate lessons learned into future actions Assess complex issues from multiple angles to gain a complete picture Demonstrate ownership for outcomes and use positive influence to achieve the right results What you will need to succeed 5+ years of experience performing securities valuations for financial reporting, transactions, or portfolio management Business acumen and decision‑making – make sound decisions and take effective, timely actions that fully reflect business purpose, implications, and context of the work produced or managed Leadership and critical thinking – ability to lead a team, meet demands of a diverse constituent base and partner with other areas to resolve issues efficiently and effectively Technical skills – experience with pivot tables and VLOOKUP, Aladdin/Blackrock, Bloomberg, Remote Plus and other tools is a plus Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities Excellent communication and documentation skills Self‑motivated and able to work under continual deadline pressure in a high‑paced environment For US applicants the base salary range is: $92.6k – $138.9k.
