About the role D-Wave is seeking a strategic and experienced Vice President of Product Management to join the R&D leadership team. This role owns the definition, execution, and communication of our product strategy across our portfolio of full-stack quantum computing systems, including hardware, software, and services. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the quantum computing landscape, a strong product management background, and a proven track record of building and scaling innovative roadmaps in emerging and disruptive technology domains. Additionally, they will have a unique blend of strategic thinking, technical fluency, customer empathy, and operational excellence to guide our product vision through a rapidly evolving market landscape. This role will lead a high-performing product management team, work cross-functionally with R&D, sales, and marketing to drive innovation, ensure product-market fit, and deliver industry-leading solutions that accelerate quantum adoption and deliver real customer value. What you’ll do Product Strategy & Vision: Define and evolve the product roadmap across hardware, software, and services, ensuring alignment with market dynamics, customer needs, technical feasibility, and company objectives. Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with teams across quantum processor development, hardware engineering, quantum algorithms, software development, systems performance, professional services, and sales to align product direction with technical capabilities and delivery timelines. Program & Delivery Alignment: Work with the program management team to ensure product strategy is tightly integrated with program execution, delivery milestones, and resource planning. Team Leadership: Lead and grow a high-performing team of product managers; foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Customer Engagement: Interface regularly with strategic customers and partners to gather insights, validate product direction, and communicate roadmap and priorities. Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification: Collaborate with product marketing and go-to-market teams to identify opportunities, assess competitive dynamics, shape strategic positioning, and define and execute product pricing models. Industry Representation & Advocacy: Represent the company at industry events, customer forums, and user conferences; clearly articulate the product vision and company strategy to external stakeholders. Budget Planning: Oversee departmental budget planning and resource allocation in partnership with finance and executive leadership. Data-Driven Decisions: Make high-impact technically driven decisions based on data, strategic insight, and customer feedback; proactively manage risk and change in a rapidly evolving business environment. Define product adoption metrics to monitor market penetration and customer adoption. What you’ll bring Master’s or Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field. 15+ years of experience in product management or technical program management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, and 5 years leading product teams in quantum computing or adjacent deep-tech domains. Deep technical and market knowledge of full-stack quantum computing systems, HW/SW Services. Proven success in developing and executing complex product strategies in high-growth, cutting-edge technology environments. Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling complex technical products from concept to market. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence a range of stakeholders including R&D teams, executives, and external partners. Strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills. Willingness to travel for customer engagements and industry events. Experience with Government / Enterprise sales cycle.
