Nature and Scope Instructors report directly to their applicable dean/coordinator and are located across the province of Saskatchewan in various educational settings. The incumbent instructs SIIT students in the classroom, laboratory or shop environments and assists during consultation hours. This position will positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates SIIT's vision, mission, and mandate. General Accountability As the educational leader in the classroom, instructors will be responsible for delivering SIIT programs and curricula with the purpose of promoting student success. Working collaboratively as a team of educational professionals, instructors will demonstrate a strong commitment to create and maintain a creative and positive learning environment at SIIT. Specific Accountabilities Instructors are required to keep current with developments in their subject area, instructional resources and methods, and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities to suit the individual needs of their students. The incumbent will be required to plan, organize and implement instructional activities which create a learning environment that guides and provides the greatest opportunity for student success. These include the following broad areas of accountability: Instruction and Administration Prepare appropriate planning documents for course delivery Select, design, update and createrelated materials including student assessment records, and attendance records Maintain program equipment, laboratory facilities and materials to ensure a safe and organized work environment where applicable Incorporate current technology advancements within instruction and administration where applicable Use appropriate methods of instruction, modeling, and mentoring, etc to facilitate student learning. Use appropriate methods of evaluating and recording student progress within set time frames Make recommendations to modify course objectives, course outlines, curriculum and evaluation procedures and such instruments Seek professional development opportunities to keep current and relevant in applicable teaching areas, educational standards, industry trends, and best practices Student Success Support student retention with respect to academic progress and subject matters Make recommendations as necessary to Learning Services and/or Program Coordinator to assist them in obtaining personal support for academic/non-academic concerns Create and maintain a creative and positive learning environment that provides the opportunity for meaningful learning Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, organize, supervise and/or monitor work experience practicums, where required Relationship Management & Leadership Adhere to and promote academic regulations and SIIT policies and procedures Support the enhancement of future student enrollment through positive promotion of SIIT programs Attend and positively contribute during staff, department, and institute meetings Foster a positive, collaborative and professional working relationship among students, coworkers and partners across the institution Develops and maintains respectful relations through the use of problem solving and constructive resolution of student issues Maintain classroom, shop and/or laboratory discipline and, if necessary, recommend action to applicable supervisor regarding student behavior, including formal student disciplinary action Ensures a positive, diverse and inclusive work and learning environment. Required Qualifications and Experience A business-related degree or master's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field (Business, Project Management, IT, Computer Science, Health, Education, or other related field). Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an equivalent form of credential is required. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a project manager with a demonstrated ability of leading and successfully delivering complex projects is required. Prior teaching experience would be preferred. For success in this position a genuine commitment to help students learn and succeed is required. Knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations would be an asset particularly in the context of working on First Nation Projects and with communities. An understanding of adult learning theories and principles is considered an asset. This position will require remote and in person work. Term: December 15, 2025 to September 15, 2026 Additional Information The IPM Pilot is a hybrid delivery (online and in-person) and is offered part-time to students over 8 months from Feb 2026 to September 2026. Delivery Method Each week, students will engage in 8 hours of course content: 5 hours "asynchronous" learning (independent, self-directed learning) content curated on SIIT's virtual learning platform Brightspace. This asynchronous learning includes case studies from local community projects, lessons from local champions of Indigenous project management, texts, online discussions, assignments and coursework, recorded lessons, and documentaries. 3 hours "synchronous" learning (conventional class-based seminars) delivered virtually through explorations of projects and course content. These sessions may occur in the evenings and weekends with your instructor. There are two mandatory in-person sessions in Saskatoon: A 2-day orientation at program start A 1-day wrap-up at the program close, where final projects will be presented for feedback In addition to project check-ins with your instructor during course four.
