Job Title: Senior Controls Specialist Location: Windsor, ON (Full-Time) On behalf of our client, Forge Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Senior Automation Specialist to join their growing team. We are looking for a technically skilled leader who thrives on delivering innovative, high-quality automation solutions. In this role, you’ll guide a talented controls team through the design, programming, and implementation of automation systems across a range of complex, cutting‑edge projects. Key Responsibilities: Design, configure, and program automation and control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA platforms. Oversee controls design projects, ensuring reliable, efficient, and on‑time delivery. Create detailed electrical schematics and hardware specifications. Provide expert problem‑solving support, from root cause analysis to implementation of solutions. Evaluate products and processes to identify optimization opportunities. Collaborate directly with customers to assess needs and develop customized solutions. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design specs, test results, and progress reports, in compliance with industry standards. Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements. Prepare modular hardwired design concepts and establish design standards for efficiency and consistency. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience preferred). 9+ years of experience in automation, controls, or a closely related discipline. Automotive manufacturing background is an asset. Proficient in PLC and HMI programming, particularly Rockwell and Siemens platforms. Hands‑on experience with vision systems such as Cognex and Keyence. Skilled at conveying complex technical concepts to clients and colleagues. Proficiency with CAD and drafting tools. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Ability to gather customer requirements and translate them into accurate project scopes. Demonstrated accuracy in interpreting and implementing technical specifications. Exceptional time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Capable of working both independently and within a collaborative team setting. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States or eligible for a TN Visa, as some projects are U.S.-based.
