As our founder transitions into a strategic CEO role, we are seeking a visionary Executive Director to lead our people, strengthen partnerships, and guide program development—helping shape the next chapter of ethical and sustainable growth. Job Summary: The Executive Director is a senior strategic leader responsible for the growth, sustainability, and direction of the organisation. This role stewards the mission through people, partnerships, and program development, providing vision and leadership to ensure effective delivery across teams and locations. As the organisation’s primary representative, the Executive Director builds strong relationships with stakeholders, funders, partners, and community members. The role demands a proactive approach to business development, project management, and strategic recruitment, with a focus on strengthening systems and outcomes. This position is ideal for a leader who is both empathetic and driven — someone who cares deeply about community impact, leads with humility, and brings the confidence and clarity needed to guide high‑performing teams. The successful candidate exercises sound judgement, embraces challenges, and leads with conviction to support sustainable growth and innovation. Key Responsibilities: People and Organizational Leadership Lead recruitment strategy and workforce planning across clinical and operational departments Foster a positive, accountable workplace culture centred on excellence, collaboration, and professional growth Support staff engagement, morale, and leadership development initiatives Collaborate closely with the Managing Director of Operations and Senior Liaison Consultant to align people systems and service delivery Lead by example as a visible, approachable leader who models the organisation’s values Culture and Workplace Wellbeing Cultivate a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging across all teams and locations Design and implement initiatives that sustain staff wellness, internal communication, and feedback loops Champion professional integrity and psychological safety in all aspects of organisational life Partnerships and Community Engagement Represent the organisation with funders, government, academic institutions, and non‑profit partners Cultivate and maintain long‑term contracts, collaborative relationships, and strategic partnerships Oversee MOUs and service agreements to ensure ethical alignment, capacity fit, and long‑term viability Promote the mission and expand the organisation’s influence through public speaking, conferences, and community events Program and Business Development Identify and pursue new opportunities for program growth, funding, and service delivery Lead the development of funding proposals, grant submissions, and contract negotiations Support cross‑functional teams in launching new initiatives from concept to implementation Drive process improvement strategies that enhance efficiency, quality, and impact Strategic Direction and Governance Partner with the CEO to ensure strong mission alignment, effective execution of vision, and sound risk oversight Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and policy development in alignment with organisational priorities Oversee financial stewardship, including budgeting, reporting, and resource allocation Ensure all programs, systems, and partnerships comply with clinical, legal, and ethical standards Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 5 years in a leadership role in non‑profit, mental health, health care, education, or human services Proven ability to recruit, lead, and grow high‑performing teams with empathy and accountability Strong background in partnership development, contract negotiation, and program strategy Skilled in business development, with a track record of expanding organisational reach and impact Experience in process improvement and project management, with the ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative and engaging leadership style Familiarity with mental health or counselling environments; experience with government or non‑profit funding is an asset A degree in a human services or mental health–related field is preferred but not required Values‑driven, strategic, and energized by collaboration, ethical leadership, and sustainable growth *We will be reviewing applications and meeting with candidates over the next four weeks, with the aim of confirming the successful candidate by the end of the year.
