We are seeking a highly experienced and hands‑on Principal Consultant with deep expertise across both AWS and Azure, specializing in infrastructure architecture, design, and deployment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Terraform, cloud automation, and a proven background in Professional Services. This role also requires strong pre‑sales and delivery collaboration skills, including scoping Statements of Work (SOWs) and estimating Level of Effort (LoE). The Principal Consultant will act as a strategic liaison between Sales, Solutions Architects, Professional Services teams, and customers to ensure successful solution design and execution. Key Responsibilities Architect, design, and lead hands‑on deployment of scalable, secure, and cost‑optimized infrastructure solutions on AWS and Azure. Define and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, incorporating automation and DevOps best practices to streamline cloud provisioning. Collaborate with Sales and Solutions Architecture teams during pre‑sales to: Understand customer needs and technical requirements. Design high‑level cloud architecture and solution blueprints. Scope Statements of Work (SOWs) including detailed Level of Effort (LoE) estimates, timelines, and deliverables. Act as a key Technical liaison between Sales, Pre‑Sales, Delivery teams, and customer stakeholders, ensuring alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable technical architectures and execution plans. Lead technical discovery sessions, workshops, and architecture reviews with clients. Drive automation and DevOps practices across cloud deployments to reduce manual tasks, improve reliability, and accelerate delivery timelines. Provide architectural oversight and thought leadership in client engagements, including design reviews, solution validation, and strategic cloud roadmap planning. Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies, service offerings, and industry trends to inform solution design and best practices. Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture and cloud deployment, with deep hands‑on expertise in both AWS and Azure. Advanced proficiency in Terraform and experience with automation tools like Ansible, PowerShell, Python, and CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins). Strong background in Professional Services delivery, including: Scoping and writing Statements of Work (SOWs). Estimating and presenting Level of Effort (LoE). Managing stakeholder expectations during project delivery. Proven experience in a Professional Services or consulting environment, delivering solutions in customer‑facing roles. Extensive hands‑on experience in deploying core cloud services in AWS and Azure (e.g., EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, Lambda, Azure VMs, VNets, Azure AD, Resource Manager). Solid understanding of cloud security, governance, identity, and cost management best practices. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences. Experience leading cross‑functional technical teams and delivering customer‑facing engagements. Demonstrated experience acting as a liaison between Sales, Solutions Architecture, Delivery teams, and clients to drive successful outcomes. Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or DevOps Engineer Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert At CDW, we strive to offer market‑competitive total rewards packages to attract and retain talent. We determine individual pay within a given range based on a candidate's prior experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. This approach allows us to offer competitive and equitable salaries that reflect the value and responsibilities of each role at CDW. Salaries are based on a 40‑hour workweek, and paid on a bi‑weekly payroll schedule. Salary range: $136,000- $189,600 CDW is an equal opportunity employer.
