Title & Employment Family Physician – Fraser West Contract: Contract up to a 1.0 FTE—typically 1680 hours a year Location: Fraser Salish, BC (includes on‑reserve services) The salary range is per the 2024‑25 Physician Master Agreement. Pre‑determined rate ranges are per the Alternative Payments Subsidiary (APSA) Agreement. Family Physicians are not required to make a contribution towards overhead. Typically a renewable contract will be negotiated. FNPCI Initiative The First Nations‑led Primary Care Initiative (FNPCI) aims to improve access to primary health‑care services for First Nations people across BC in a culturally safe and community‑based manner. It supports the creation of primary care networks that integrate team‑based care throughout B.C. Primary care must be culturally safe and culturally informed, with Indigenous knowledge woven into services. A main objective is to develop new First Nations Primary Health Care Centres in rural and urban locations across the province, providing safe, welcoming, and respectful care. About The Centre The Fraser West First Nations Primary Care Centre (FW‑FNPCC) serves the members of Katzie, Tsawwassen, Kwikwetlem, and Semiahmoo First Nations and the Indigenous population of the western Fraser Region (Burnaby, Tri‑Cities, New Westminster, Pitt Meadows, White Rock, and Delta). The centre will operate through several spoke sites, offering holistic care that integrates Western medicine with traditional wellness practices. Initial operations will be Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. About The Role As the primary provider at the FW‑FNPCC, the Family Physician will manage a patient panel, collaborate with a team to deliver both Western and traditional wellness approaches, and support culturally safe care. The role requires travel across the seven sites to be available for appointments within the community. A minimum panel size of 650 per 1.0 FTE is expected by year 3. Responsibilities Practice with cultural humility, delivering comprehensive primary care that addresses physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of patients and families in a culturally safe, team‑based environment. Ensure compliance with BC health regulations and standards. About You You are passionate about supporting First Nations individuals and families on their health and wellness journeys. You hold an active practising licence in good standing with the College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC). You have training in Cultural Safety & Humility or are willing to undertake such training. Ideally, you have experience working with First Nations people and communities, providing culturally safe care. You possess a valid driving licence and are willing to travel to the seven sites within the Fraser Salish region.
