Overview RVT, ICU Department Scarborough, Ontario Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital is a state‑of‑the‑art veterinary emergency and referral hospital that delivers expert care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are currently expanding our ICU team and looking for Registered Veterinary Technicians who want to stretch their RVT skills and be part of an amazing collaborative team. Skills and Responsibilities Placement and maintenance of various IV and urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes, nasal oxygen cannulas, NG & E‑tubes, closed suction drains, chest tubes, and wound diffusion catheters. Set up, maintenance and adjustment of various IV fluid plans and pain CRI’s along with multiple medication administration. Treat critical in‑hospital patients with blocked cats, gastroenteritis, foreign bodies, fractures, lacerations, GDV, parvo and various autoimmune diseases. Assist with anesthesia and perform surgical and wound procedures, managing patients post‑operatively with the specialist team. Collaborate with the team to provide best‑practice veterinary medicine in the GTA. Schedule ICU Technicians work a rotation of 4 on, 5 off with two 12‑hour day shifts followed by two 12‑hour night shifts. This includes weekends and holidays.
