LeverageTek is actively seeking a Bilingual Team Leader, Language Lead (Translation Services) for a permanent/full-time opportunity with its Ottawa-based customer. Work Location Remote Security Requirement Eligible for Government of Canada Enhanced Reliability Clearance Key Tasks Linguistic Quality Leadership Establish, implement, and uphold rigorous linguistic quality standards across the Translation Services team. Lead the ongoing development of strategies to ensure consistent, accurate, and high-quality French translation and revision. Serve as the primary authority on complex linguistic, stylistic, and terminology questions, offering expert guidance to translator-revisers. Review and approve sensitive, complex, or high-visibility content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency. Language Resources & Terminology Management Develop, enrich, and maintain comprehensive terminology databases, glossaries, linguistic guidelines, and other language tools. Monitor emerging trends, industry best practices, and evolving linguistic standards to ensure resources remain authoritative and up to date. Create and implement processes to standardize usage, improve consistency, and optimize translation workflows. Mentorship, Team Leadership & Human Resources Support Provide expert linguistic mentorship, coaching, and training to translator-revisers, promoting continuous improvement and professional development. Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and HR-related activities within the translation team. Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture rooted in excellence, communication, and shared learning. Strategic Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate closely with the Program Leader, Translation Services to align language practices with organizational communication priorities. Work with internal partners and external stakeholders to ensure translation quality meets broader organizational objectives and client expectations. Contribute to the development and oversight of workflows, processes, and standards that enhance consistency and service excellence. Key Qualifications Advanced translation credentials (degree in translation required). Experience in translation agencies is strongly preferred, along with subject-matter expertise in terminology management and providing language guidance as a curious, methodical linguist. Leadership & Mentorship Capabilities: Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and human resources management skills in a translation or linguistic environment. Qualifications Superior French Translation & Revision Expertise: Exceptional translation, revision, and proofreading skills in French, with strong English proficiency. Terminology Management & Language Resource Development Experience: Proven experience in terminology management, linguistic resource development, and applying translation software/tools. Exceptional attention to linguistic detail and deep understanding of style, grammar, tone, and translation standards. Proven ability to resolve complex linguistic and terminology issues with authority and sound judgment. Strong leadership, mentorship, and human resources management capabilities. Ability to foster collaboration, inspire performance, and support a culture of continuous improvement. Strong understanding of translation workflows, quality control processes, and best practices in professional communications. Proficiency with terminology management tools, translation software, Microsoft Office, and digital collaboration platforms. Education & Experience Requirements Minimum: University degree in translation, terminology, linguistics, or a related field. Experience: At least five years of experience in translation, revision, terminology management, and the use of translation software, preferably in an agency or professional services environment. Membership in a recognized professional association (e.g., OTTIAQ, ATIO) is preferred. Demonstrated understanding of project management principles and communications best practices.
