VP, Compliance Canadian Banking TD is hiring a VP, Compliance Canadian Banking to lead regulatory compliance in the bank’s Canadian Banking operations. The role reports to the TDBG SVP, Chief Compliance Officer . Location & Compensation Work Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Hours: 37.5 Line Of Business: Compliance Pay: $175,000 - $255,000 CAD Department Overview The Global Compliance Department oversees regulatory compliance across TDBG, promoting compliance programs, developing regulatory updates, maintaining policies, managing complaints, providing training, conducting monitoring, reporting to leadership, and advising on risk management. Key Accountabilities Provide second line of defense risk‑based oversight over the regulation of business conduct and market conduct in Canadian Personal Banking and Canadian Business Banking, following the RCM Framework. Guide and challenge Corporate Functions on compliance risk management and conduct risk matters. Provide independent compliance viewpoint to Senior Executive Team leaders. Lead and maintain the TD Canadian Banking and Consumer Legislation Compliance Programs. Communicate regulatory compliance requirements, standards, risks, and measures to business lines. Build constructive relationships with senior management and regulatory agencies. Report activities, issues, and events through appropriate channels. Maintain transparent relationships with regulators. Share early indications of significant regulatory issues that could impact earnings or reputation. Attract and develop top talent, build succession plans. Shared Accountabilities Assist the business in the proactive assessment of regulatory risks and develop mitigation plans. Coordinate between compliance teams in Canada and Canadian Banking Compliance teams in the US. Act as a key member of the Compliance Senior Executive Team and Canadian Banking Leadership Teams. Represent Canadian Banking on forums and coordinate with internal control functions. Coordinate regulatory exams and investigations. Contribute to the direction of TDBG compliance programs. Manage a team of compliance professionals. Job Requirements University degree required; Postgraduate degree preferred. 10+ years of relevant industry and management experience. Expertise in regulations, compliance strategies, risk management, advisory, policy, change, project management. High personal and professional integrity. Strong verbal, written, public speaking, negotiation, and listening skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple priorities. Leadership experience focused on talent development and coaching. Ability to operate in an evolving, ambiguous, matrixed environment. Strategic thinker with excellent judgment and risk/reward balance. Results oriented, able to work across silos to build effective relationships. Transparent communicator and respected TD representative. Model TD’s executive leadership profile: skilled, confident, low ego, inspiring, influence‑oriented.
