Job Summary Role: SharePoint Developer (web/page development/customization). Client: Government of Alberta. Incorporation rate: $50 CAD + GST (Incorporation is must). Contract period: until 03/31/2027 with possible 12‑month extension. Anticipated start date: Immediate. Please read below entirely. Scoring Methodology Resource Qualifications: 20% Interview Process: 60% SUBMISSION MUST INCLUDE Each job/project must contain term in the format MMM/YYYY to MMM/YYYY. Education Requirements University graduation in computer science or related discipline and 4‑yr relevant experience. 2‑yr diploma in computer science or related discipline and 6‑yr relevant experience. 1‑yr certificate in computer science or related discipline and 7‑yr relevant experience. Currently active professional certification or accreditation and 8‑yr relevant experience. Required Experience 8+ years Experience as a Site Collection Administrator. 8+ years troubleshooting forms and workflows (all types). 8+ years using and supporting ShareGate. 8+ years using Microsoft SharePoint. 8+ years developing, integrating, supporting Microsoft SharePoint 2016 and Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online. 8+ years developing integrated system and technical design specifications on complex engagements. 8+ years using PowerShell to manage Farm/Application/Site Collection/Site Features. 8+ years Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online admin portal, reporting, configuration, and administrative tasks. 1+ years Experience with Government of Alberta's IT/IM policies, standards and guidelines. 8+ years using Central Administration on a SharePoint environment. Project Name Ministry Intranet Modernization Scope Reporting to the Manager, Content and Collaboration Services (CCS), the SharePoint Analyst’s primary role will be on developing, migrating, and creation of content on the Department’s intranet pages using SharePoint Online. You will collaborate closely with end‑users, communication and engagement specialists, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth functioning of SharePoint intranet websites. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. All Government of Alberta Ministries Intranets on SharePoint 2016 are in scope for this project and will be migrated to SharePoint Online environment. This resource will participate in the M365 and SharePoint Online Migration Project, including planning, designing, testing, migration, and implementation activities as it relates to SharePoint Online and related products. Required Skills Experience in Design, User Experience (UX), and User Interface (UI) to create intuitive and visually appealing user center experiences. Ability to translate business requirements from non‑technical stakeholders into user‑centric designs. Experience with SharePoint Online and CMS and best practices. Knowledge of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (asset). Ability to design and implement custom web parts, themes, and workflows (asset). Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Duties User gathering and effective communication with the stakeholders. Migrating the content from existing Intranet websites into the new modernized pages. Design and build responsive and user‑friendly Intranet pages using SharePoint Online. Customize SharePoint components, including web parts, lists, libraries, and workflows. Develop custom themes, templates, and branding elements to align with Government of Alberta guidelines. Optimize site navigation and structure for ease of use. Implement content management best practices. Develop workflows and automation to improve content publishing efficiency. Perform business analysis and design to support creating SharePoint solutions. Provide first and second‑level technical support for SharePoint‑related issues. Troubleshoot SharePoint site and application issues. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement enhancements. Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials. Participate in testing and quality assurance activities. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. Perform business requirements and complex design in delivering solutions using out‑of‑box SharePoint components. Provide expertise for the design of new processes for support of Microsoft SharePoint. Validate content and data used to support migration efforts. Resolution of day‑to‑day problems arising through operational support of SharePoint. Development and implementation of solutions individually and as a member of the SharePoint operations team. Routine reports that correlate hours worked with operational duties. Work directly with Government of Alberta technical staff and other stakeholders. Equipment Requirements Resource will require own equipment. Resource must provide their own computer and related equipment. The computer's OS must be a modern version of Windows or macOS compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and related software for remote access. Windows is preferred. AVD/remote-related software will be installed on the resource's computer. Working Hours Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the Province. Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues. It is anticipated the role will be primarily remote; however, in the event of an onsite meeting, the Government of Alberta does not pay for travel to attend on‑site meetings, nor any expenses related to relocation, commuting, housing/accommodation, food/drink. Travel to and from Edmonton or within Alberta will be at no cost to the Province. Notes on Location This resource will primarily work remotely; however, the resource may be required to attend meetings or work sessions in office on reasonable notice from the Province. At the time of providing such notice, the Province will advise of the expected duration of any such meetings or work sessions. However, time to travel and any associated expenses to and from Edmonton and/or travel within Alberta will be at no cost to the Province.
