About Our Opportunity We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Trauma Counsellor to join our STV counselling program and Trauma Services team. Trauma Counsellors, in our STV Program, provide trauma-informed counselling for folks from all marginalized genders who have experienced childhood sexual abuse. Counselling services include intake, assessment, treatment, referrals, and consultation and collaboration with other service providers. Our Trauma Counsellors support clients in their healing journeys from a feminist, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, intersectional lens. Our Trauma Counsellors support clients in their healing journeys from a feminist, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, intersectional lens. Qualifications (education, experience, skills) Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology or equivalent degree (MA, M.Ed, MSW) & registered with a professional body (BCACC, BC College of Social Workers) A minimum of 3 years of relevant counselling experience working with adults who have experienced trauma Training in trauma-informed counselling, somatic approaches, parts-work and expressive-arts-based interventions Solid understanding of the best practices in trauma treatment, including somatic approaches, expressive arts-based approaches, the neurobiological impacts of trauma, attachment work, internal family systems/parts-work Excellent clinical counselling skills (both individual and group counselling) Knowledge, skills and experience in working with a diverse client population who have been impacted by poverty, abuse, neglect, addiction, and mental health issues Committed to trauma-informed, feminist, anti-oppressive practice and skills to adapt practice to best meet the needs of clients Hours of work 20.5 hours per week (part-time – term position, under 1 year) Compensation $37.89 per hour How to apply To apply click here: #J-18808-Ljbffr
