About the Role Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with a passion for machine learning. Own end‑to‑end technical delivery, from shaping the architecture of ML‑powered applications to implementing solutions across cloud services, APIs, and modern front‑end frameworks. Act as the technical backbone of your project pod, balancing hands‑on development with technical leadership, architectural decision‑making, and client‑facing collaboration. This hybrid role requires regular in‑office attendance at our Toronto office. Responsibilities Reduce project risk through proactive ownership of epic‑level technical design, execution, and cross‑team dependency resolution. Improve technical decision‑making by thoroughly researching, evaluating, and documenting potential solutions. Increase client and stakeholder confidence by leading technical discovery sessions and acting as a technical SME during discussions. Lead implementation for features spanning multiple user stories or services. Design architecture for moderately complex solutions, often involving multiple services or systems, and chair technical reviews. Provide technical leadership within the pod, mediate code review disputes, contribute new features to shared AltaML libraries, and assist in hiring through technical interviews. Lead technical discovery sessions with clients to clarify requirements and define technical scope. Implement higher‑level testing strategies, including integration tests for deployed solutions. Requirements Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field. 4+ years of experience as a full‑stack developer. Proven ability to take ideas from conception to production. Strong experience with Cloud Services (Azure preferred). Strong experience with React. Strong experience with Python. Expertise in writing clean, readable, and maintainable code. Experience with unit and API testing (e.g., xUnit, Postman). Experience working in an agile environment. Experience with Docker. Proficiency with version control systems (VCS). Nice to Have Experience with Azure Document Intelligence and serverless computing (Azure Durable Functions). Experience with rapid prototyping tools and taking solutions from 0 to 1. Experience developing applications using LLM/ML APIs. Knowledge of LangChain, Autogen, and VectorDBs.
