We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist to join the Analytical Development team at AbCellera. You will be responsible for leading the Separation Sciences team, overseeing the continuous improvement of existing platform analytical test methods and the introduction of new test methods and analytical technology. As an Analytical Lead on CMC programs, you will work to meet all analytical requirements and progress our CMC programs to regulatory submission and provide critical post-approval support. Your contributions will directly impact our mission of delivering groundbreaking therapies to patients worldwide. Responsibilities Establishing laboratory workflows and creating best practices for the Analytical Development Separation Sciences sub-function Generating high quality data in support of Analytical Development, GMP-enabling method fit-for-purpose testing, method qualifications, and regulatory filings Aggregating and presenting data to the Analytical Development team and across CMC Authoring technical reports to support regulatory submissions Contributing to CMC technical teams in the form of investigation support, data generation, interpretation, and presentation Collaborating to support evaluation of preclinical drug candidates as part of an Early Manufacturability Assessment Researching and evaluating technological advances in the field of analytical chemistry Connecting scientific experimental design and execution to key business objectives Qualifications You have demonstrated expertise in therapeutic biophysical and biochemical protein characterization focusing on protein separation technologies, and/or protein analytics in either academia or industry You have a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline, and 5-8+ years of related experience; or a MSc degree and at least 10-12 years of industry experience You are an innovator that is excited to develop new approaches to the discovery and development of therapeutics You have familiarity with electronic lab notebooks (Benchling), experimental data capture, and the associated 21 CFR part 11 compliance requirements; and a good understanding of regulatory filings such as INDs, BLAs, and IMPDs You are an outstanding communicator and team player, motivated about the opportunity to work with a team on challenging problems that matter, with speed What we offer AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is CAD $105,600 - $132,000 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution. You will have a CAD $1,500 annual Active Lifestyle Allowance, annual vacation, professional development opportunities, and comprehensive health benefits.
