DRA has an opportunity for a Senior P&ID Designer to join our Engineering and Design Team and service our mining engineering clients. Projects will include aspects of Process engineering with small groups working closely alongside one another. The Senior P&ID Designershould be self-motivated and be able to work on projects of varying complexity ranging from simple line diagrams through to detailed drawings on multi-disciplined engineering projects. Responsibilities Technical Expertise Setup and configure the AutoCAD PID application and projects. Customize Symbols, Lists and Reports to project requirements. Develop project and application specific work instructions. Provide end-user training utilizing company training materials. Maintain audit plans and routines to ensure data integrity and proper system operation. Implement maintenance routines. Maintain detailed software documentation. Interprets flow diagrams, design packs or conceptual designs and prepares drawings for a project. Modifies drawings to suit client, engineers and Design Office management requirements. Working knowledge of applicable software and workflows. Adhere to drawing office standards and procedures. General understanding of design codes and standards. Appropriate flowsheets, P&ID’s, drawing, flowsheet symbols and drawing software database knowledge. Budget Management Manage and review drawings within the man-hour budget. Produce drawings in a cost-effective manner. Ensure drawings are delivered within the project schedule. Responsible for reporting on drawing budget over-run. Quality Ensure quality of drawings are of a high standard through the correct usage of software. Produce drawings accurately according to the client, drawing office and applicable standards and codes for the project. Follow specific drawing office quality assurance and procedures. Ensure drawing are self-checked to minimise errors. Maintain a high standard of end-user training. Requirements: A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in all of the following: Drafting of PFD’s and P&ID’s in AutoCAD and AutoCAD P&ID. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Good organizational, technical, writing, communication and computer skills. Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively.
