Senior Software Engineer – Payments Team As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help deliver an exceptional product experience to our customers all around the world. You will design and build features for hotel guests, creating a user experience that makes travelers feel welcome and inspired, and for accommodation providers, building trusted, simple, and easy‑to‑use features to support key aspects of their daily business, helping nearly 10,000 properties globally process billions in transactions every year. Our Payments tribe builds the systems that keep money moving securely, efficiently, and globally for thousands of our customers. You will join a supportive, collaborative group of engineers who are building the financial backbone of the industry, together. What You Bring to the Team Ownership mindset: take responsibility for the quality and reliability of your contributions and collaborate closely with peers to design, build, and operate systems together. What Sets You Up for Success 5+ years of PHP web application software engineering experience. 2+ years of experience working with MySQL or PostgreSQL; tuning and optimization skills preferred. 1+ year of experience designing and developing event‑driven microservices in either PHP or Java. Experience with modern infrastructure tooling (e.g. DataDog, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Terraform, ArgoCD). A strong business sense and ability to collaborate with leadership and non‑technical stakeholders on highly visible projects. Dedication to observability by leveraging metrics, experiments, and prototypes to ensure decisions are data‑driven. Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, design patterns, and automated testing. Bonus Skills to Stand Out (Optional) Solid understanding of secure software engineering with experience in regulated environments; familiarity with PCI‑DSS and similar compliance frameworks. Experience engineering software for large‑scale solutions, utilizing modern tooling and Domain‑Driven Design. Experience in the Payments domain and/or travel industry.
