Dentists – Urgent and Emergency Care
Want to make a real difference? You couldn’t be in better company.
We are seeking dentists to join our team in delivering Urgent and Emergency Dental Care for patients in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly unable to access a General Dental Practitioner, and for visitors to the county requiring emergency care.
A salaried position without the stress of UDAs and clawback but with the benefit of an NHS pension, this post would suit an experienced dentist seeking to refocus their dental career and make a genuine difference to those who need us most in our local community.
Reporting to our Clinical Director, this is an ideal opportunity to make that perfect career change, genuinely make a difference and help drive service improvement.
It’s never been a more exciting time to join us – we’re an employee-owned social enterprise and we’re the UK’s first dental practice to become B Corp certified. This means we care for Cornwall, our society and the environment.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Providing urgent dental care for patients (both children and adults) unable to access a General Dental Practitioner
- Actively engaging with Smile Together teams and participating in audit activities, planning and development sessions, in-house meetings etc
- Being responsible for safe working and practice on a day-to-day basis in sites of clinical activity, ensuring compliance with clinical governance and legislation, appropriate health, safety and security procedures within the work area, and report accidents, incidents and near misses using the Smile Together incident reporting procedure
- Participating in community dental and oral health promotion activities
Our package includes:
- From £65,000 per annum (paid pro-rata if not working full time)
- Paid indemnity and GDC registration (pro rata)
- Access to NHS pension
- 27 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays each year (pro-rata)
- Additional paid day off for your birthday
- Working with highly skilled, enthusiastic and fun teams, committed to patient care
- Support in defining and developing your professional career in a positive and enabling environment
- An excellent dedicated and personalised training package to help maintain your CPD and wider professional development via our Smile Together Training Academy
- A friendly support network with an induction colleague assigned to assist your transition to our company
- A range of health and wellbeing resources and support
- Outstanding work life balance in a beautiful part of the country
- Opportunity to become a shareholder* and have a genuine voice in our employee-owned business
- Opportunity to engage in community-based oral health improvement projects, and we have quite an impact as you can see here
- Our workforce benefits package including company bonus (paid pro rata) and shareholder dividend scheme*
Salary and benefits are pro rata if not working full time – our standard full-time contract is 37.5 hours per week excluding breaks.
*Conditions apply
Wherever you are in your dental career, we’re a committed and friendly team that puts our people and patients first, giving you the opportunity to work, develop and progress your career in a safe, supportive environment. It’s never been a more exciting time to join us in providing a valued dental service in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
