Disability Claim Specialist - Health, Safety & Wellness CAMH is seeking a full‑time, 12‑month contract Disability Claim Specialist to support employees experiencing occupational or non‑occupational illness or injury. The role is located at 100 Stokes Street and will be hybrid, onsite 4 days per week. Responsibilities Serve as the subject‑matter expert on extended absences for employees, providing guidance and support throughout claim lifecycles. Partner with CAMH’s third‑party insurer to manage claim activity, facilitate the return‑to‑work process, and coordinate return‑to‑work meetings with external stakeholders. Implement and evaluate return‑to‑work strategies, including modified work programs and permanent accommodation arrangements. Prepare metrics and absence reports, identifying trends for internal stakeholders and contributing to continuous improvement. Collaborate with HR business partners and safety specialists to ensure consistency of processes, improve employee experience, and identify partnership efficiencies. Process claims efficiently, ensuring compliance with disability legislation, CAMH policies, and collective agreements. Qualifications Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, Kinesiology, or an allied health/rehabilitation science. 2–3 years of progressive experience in absence disability claim management and return‑to‑work principles within a unionized environment. Knowledge of WSIB insurance policy interpretation and Human Rights legislation. Strong customer‑service orientation, initiative, accountability, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution abilities. Adaptability to change and ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with Occupational Health software (e.g., Cority) is an asset. Bilingualism in French/English or proficiency in a second language is an asset.
