Senior Data Scientist – Jobber Join to apply for the Senior Data Scientist role at Jobber. Overview We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who will play a pivotal role in conceptualizing, developing, and refining our ML and AI strategies to amplify our business operations. This role supports real problems that help small businesses succeed and is embedded in a collaborative, autonomous environment that values feedback, rapid release cycles, and professional growth. Team The Strategy and Analytics Department serves as the central hub that drives business outcomes across Jobber’s ecosystem. You will work closely with marketing, sales, customer growth & retention, and product teams. Role Reporting to the Senior Manager, Analytics, you will champion the design and development of ML/AI solutions such as segmentation systems, predictive models, NLP solutions, and optimization tools across all functional areas. Responsibilities Support in setting the strategic vision for ML and AI at Jobber and develop a clear roadmap for projects. Design and implement proofs of concept, progressing them to fully realized solutions aligned with business needs. Formulate compelling business cases for further investment in ML and AI infrastructure. Serve as the primary contact for stakeholder engagement, communicating project developments and ensuring focus on high‑impact tasks. Translate business needs into ML/AI solutions, including solution design, analytical methodology, and hands‑on development. Consult analytical and business stakeholders on best‑in‑class approaches and secure alignment & buy‑in. Be proactive, independent, and deliver results in an ambiguous, fast‑paced environment. Qualifications Proficiency in a quantitative field such as Computer Science or Data Science. Industry experience leveraging analytics/ML for customer‑facing problems with high proficiency in SQL, Python, and tools such as Pandas, Polars, Scikit‑Learn, TensorFlow, and Prophet. Team management and SaaS business experience is a plus. Solid foundation in analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and relevant tools. Proven ability to craft and present persuasive business cases. Experience leading projects, collaborating cross‑functionally, and managing stakeholders. Forward‑thinking mindset to anticipate future business needs and technology trends. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Nice to Have Experience with AWS ML development/deployment tools such as Sagemaker. Experience with Trino, Iceberg, and AWS S3. Experience designing analytical data marts (monthly snapshots, sequencing data). Solid understanding of complex relational data structures. Compensation The base salary range is $145,900 CAD to $197,400 CAD annually, with a midpoint of $171,600 CAD. Compensation also includes equity rewards, annual health & wellness stipends, retirement savings matching, and an extended health package with fully paid premiums.
