Data & AI Engineer - Sr Data Engineer Join to apply for the Data & AI Engineer - Sr Data Engineer role at Capgemini. Name of the position: Sr. Data Engineer (Python & Spark) Reports to: Team Lead/Delivery Manager Department/Project: Engineering As a Senior Data Engineer, you will build distributed data processing solutions and highly loaded database solutions for various business cases including reporting, product analytics, marketing optimization and financial reporting. Contribute as part of a self‑organized team of experienced data engineers working in a challenging, innovative environment for our client, creating the foundation for decision‑making at a company dealing with billions of events per day. Responsibilities Obtain tasks from the project lead or Team Lead (TL), prepare functional and design specifications, and approve them with all stakeholders. Ensure that assigned area/areas are delivered within set deadlines and required quality objectives. Provide estimates, agree task duration with the manager and contribute to the project plan of assigned area. Analyze scope of alternative solutions and make decisions about area implementation based on experience and technical expertise. Lead functional and architectural design of assigned areas. Ensure design decisions on the project meet architectural and design requirements. Address area‑level risks, provide and implement mitigation plan. Report about area readiness/quality, and raise red flags in crisis situations beyond the AOR. Resolve crisis situations within the AOR. Design, develop and implement large‑scale, high‑volume, high‑performance data models and pipelines for Data Lake and Data Warehouse. Develop and implement data quality checks, conduct QA and implement monitoring routines to improve the reliability and scalability of ETL processes. Initiate and conduct code reviews, create code standards, conventions and guidelines. Suggest technical and functional improvements to add value to the product. Continuously improve your professional level. Collaborate with other teams. Qualifications University degree in Computer‑Related Sciences or similar. 5+ years experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or a similar role. Proficiency in Python. Expert in database fundamentals, advanced proficiency in complex SQL and distributed computing. 5+ years of experience in ETL orchestration and workflow management tools like Airflow, Flink, Oozie and Azkaban using AWS/GCP. Experience with Spark, Snowflake & Databricks. Ability to debug Spark jobs. Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, PostgreSQL and/or other DBMS platforms. Excellent communication skills and experience working with technical and non‑technical teams. Ability to pass a hacker‑rank code test. Experience with AWS (EC2/S3/IAM). Knowledge of reporting tools such as Tableau, Superset and Looker. Strong Python coding skills with expert data migration experience. Life at Capgemini Flexible work.
