The role embraces change, problem‑solving, and quality commitment while working across multiple industry sectors. Job Duties / Responsibilities Develop and troubleshoot robot, PLC, HMI, motion control, vision, drives, and safety applications. Set up and configure system network architecture between all devices, both internal and external. Troubleshoot electrical, programming, and pneumatic issues. Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and stakeholders to ensure project completion on time and on budget. Provide on‑site technical support at customer facilities, including troubleshooting, product presentations, and technical training. Document program changes and create manuals for machines. Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for control systems. Demonstrate overall project responsibility. Follow company standards for programming and project design. Maintain a Project/Activity Database and calendar. Represent Proax Technologies professionally and respectfully to customers and vendors. Adapt to additional responsibilities as needed. Work Experience Requirements 5+ years of experience in custom robot automation. Willingness to travel locally and internationally to customer sites. Understanding of machine design, build process, and electrical circuits. Excellent understanding of programming robot applications. Experience with ABB RobotStudio and building robot simulations. Using multiple TCPs in the same project. Setting up robot communications from scratch. Programming robots from scratch. Experience with conveyor tracking and safe move. Experience with ABB Pick Master or Power PACC asset. ABB robot experience is an asset. Strong understanding of PLC, HMI, vision, servo motors, and drives. Experience with fieldbus communications (EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Modbus). Ability to work independently and in groups. Strong decision‑making, pressure handling, and deadline‑meeting skills. Excellent verbal & written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills. Experience with Structured Text, Visual Basic, or SQL is an asset. Experience with Omron PLCs and Sysmac Studio is an asset. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or Technologist Diploma in Mechatronics, Controls/Electromechanical engineering or equivalent trade/license specialization. Legally authorized to work in Canada. Valid driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle.
