Overview Join to apply for the Emergency Physician - Eagle Ridge Hospital - Royal Columbian Hospital role at Fraser Health Authority. Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) and Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) are seeking full-time Emergency Physicians to join our physician group (Columbia Emergency Physicians Association). The successful applicants will have CCFP (EM) or FRCPC (EM) certification and will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. PALS or APLS certification within five years is also required for work within the region. ABEM certified also eligible. Previous experience in a high-volume, high-acuity Emergency Department is preferable, as is work experience with trauma and pediatric populations. ATLS or other trauma-based certification (e.g. STRUC) is highly recommended. Responsibilities Provide emergency medical care at Royal Columbian Hospital and Eagle Ridge Hospital as part of the Columbia Emergency Physicians Association. Engage in teaching and supervision of residents and medical students; attain a faculty appointment in the Department of Emergency Medicine and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education at UBC. Participate in research, quality improvement, physician leadership, education, simulation, and geriatric emergency medicine as aligned with interests and site needs. Contribute to a collegial, diverse, and inclusive work environment with flexible scheduling and family-friendly policies (leave, vacation, and sabbatical options). Collaborate with a large, multidisciplinary group across two sites to deliver high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population from the Fraser Health region. Qualifications CCFP (EM) or FRCPC (EM) certification; CPSBC eligible for full license. PALS or APLS certification within five years; ACLS and ATLS recommended; ABEM certification also eligible. Experience in high-volume, high-acuity emergency departments; trauma and pediatric experience preferred. Interest or experience in research, quality improvement, education, simulation, and leadership is desirable. Compensation & Benefits Compensation for a full-time Emergency Physician (approximately 13 shifts per month) is about $400,000+ per year. Locum/temporary opportunities are also available. Eagle Ridge Hospital is a community hospital with recent renovation and expansion; provides 24/7 emergency services with a large variety of ED presentations.
