The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is the largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital as well as one of the world's leading research centres in this field. Our goal is to tailor treatment to each individual, providing patient-centered, comprehensive, coordinated care. As part of the Complex Care and Recovery Program (CCR), the Adult Neurodevelopmental Services provides a wide range of supports to clients age 16 and older diagnosed with Intellectual Disabilities (ID) and/or Autism with mental health illnesses or severe challenging behaviours such as severe aggression or self‑injurious behaviour (SIB). Position Description The Adult Neurodevelopmental Services (ANS) is currently seeking a part‑time, contract (12 months) Psychologist position. This position will report to the Manager of ANS and work collaboratively with the Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre to support clients served by our outpatient service. The successful candidate will be part of a team of clinicians and researchers and will work in an interprofessional context, collaborating with other disciplines engaging in clinical duties and research/educational activities related to the academic mandate. The psychologist’s duties include: Conducting psychological assessments including psycho‑diagnostic assessments such as Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnostic assessments for adults. Providing evidence‑informed individual and group treatments to clients diagnosed with autism and/or ID and their families. Contributing to interprofessional clinical formulations and care planning for clients. Providing training and supervision to practicum students and psychology residents. Participating in the development, delivery and evaluation of innovative approaches to addressing the mental health needs of those with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all the applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. Qualifications The successful candidate will have a PhD in Clinical Psychology and be registered or eligible for registration as a psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) in the area of clinical psychology authorized to practice with adults with developmental disabilities. Three years of experience working with individuals with Autism and/or intellectual disabilities is preferred, and with mental health illness is required. Experience with clinical interviewing, administering standardized diagnostic tools including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule‑2 and delivering manualized group interventions (e.g., CBT, ACT and DBT) to people with developmental disabilities is preferred. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced clinical environment within an interprofessional team are also required. This position requires knowledge of relevant community resources in the developmental sector, in addition to the mental health sector. The ability to provide culturally competent service to clients of diverse ethno‑racial and cultural backgrounds is essential and experience working in a multi‑system, inter‑professional environment is required. Computer skills, including word processing, electronic communication, and relevant psychological assessment measures’ software are required.
