People like youJob DescriptionPosition Overview:We are seeking a motivated Civil/Structural Technologist Intern to join our engineering team. This role provides hands-on experience in supporting civil and structural design projects under the supervision of senior engineers and technologists. The intern will assist with drawings, calculations, fieldwork, and project documentation while gaining exposure to industry practices, codes, and standards.Key Responsibilities:Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, models, and technical documentation using Revit and / or BIM software.Conduct site visits to observe construction progress, collect data, and perform field measurements.Participate in the preparation of reports, specifications, and cost estimates.Help review shop drawings and contractor submissions for accuracy and compliance.Collaborate with engineers, technologists, and project managers on day-to-day project tasks.Ensure work adheres to applicable codes, standards, and safety practices.Perform other related duties as assigned to support project delivery.Qualifications:Currently enrolled in a Architectural Technology or Structural Technology program (diploma/degree).Knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and construction practices.Familiarity with CAD, Revit, or other engineering design software.Strong attention to detail with good problem-solving skills.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt to new challenges.What We Offer:Practical experience working on real engineering projects.Mentorship from experienced engineers and technologists.Exposure to industry standards, tools, and methodologies.Opportunity to develop technical and professional skills.Benefits of Employment: IKO recognizes that its success is due to the strength of its employees.
