What We Offer Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 + bonus (up to 10%) Generous time off Job Type: Hybrid in office (Ottawa) Benefits: Comprehensive health benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision What You’ll Do The Manager, Financial Reporting leads the preparation of accurate and transparent external financial reports, ensuring compliance and integrity in all financial processes. This role combines technical accounting expertise with leadership to uphold accountability and public trust through high‑quality reporting to stakeholders, including the board, funders, and government partners. Direct the preparation and delivery of all external financial disclosures, including management commentary, executive briefings, and quarterly and annual reports to governing bodies. Ensure the production of precise and compliant financial statements, both consolidated and stand‑alone, capturing the full financial scope of the organization’s operations. Build and lead a results‑driven finance team, emphasizing collaboration, technical excellence, and ongoing process improvement. Provide authoritative guidance on complex accounting topics, drafting clear position papers and implementing best‑practice policies. Oversee the full audit process, maintaining strong relationships with external auditors and ensuring timely, issue‑free completion. Manage client and stakeholder billing frameworks, evaluating the financial impact of strategic or operational changes. Collaborate with internal finance groups to align reporting, treasury, and compliance functions under a unified financial strategy. What We’re Looking For Holds a CPA designation with strong expertise in accounting standards and external financial reporting. Brings at least 6 years of progressive experience in accounting, auditing, or financial reporting within complex or large organizations. Proven track record managing high‑performing financial reporting teams; prior audit experience (public practice or internal) is highly valued. In‑depth understanding of GAAP, ASPE, and IFRS, along with solid knowledge of accounting systems, internal controls, and reporting frameworks. Experience with pension and benefits accounting is considered an asset. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering collaboration and accountability. Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communicator capable of translating complex financial data into meaningful insights.
