Maintenance Manager Port Hawkesbury Paper LP Location: Port Hawkesbury, NS (On site) Salary: $29.81 to $87.27 per hour Employment Type: Full time, Permanent Start Date: As soon as possible Job Details Port Hawkesbury Paper is currently seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team. As Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient management of the maintenance program at our mill. You will lead a team of maintenance supervisors, planners and skilled tradespeople. You will participate in the implementation of a new Centralized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The Maintenance Manager is responsible for budgeted equipment availability and will work closely with Operations and Engineering to meet this goal. This role also involves interfacing with Purchasing, Accounting, and other departments, as well as networking with suppliers, consultants, and others as required. Experience / Education Requirements Significant maintenance experience with progressively increasing responsibilities in the field. Minimum of 10 years relevant supervisory experience in a manufacturing or related industrial unionized environment. Experience in the paper industry and third‑party accreditations in maintenance and reliability management preferred. Previous leadership experience and training is a plus. Skills / Competency Requirements Promote a safe work culture and drive H&S performance. Ambition, motivation, and determination – driven to exceed targets and expectations. Initiative to thrive in a fast‑paced and dynamic work environment. Supervision experience in a unionized environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Leadership skills and ability to effectively manage employees. Solid organizational and decision‑making skills with attention to detail and creative problem‑solving. Excellent computer skills and CMMS expertise. Knowledgeable in planning and scheduling, predictive and preventive maintenance.
