Sr Associate - Hiring Specialist at Iris Software Inc. Iris’s client, one of the Top 5 banks in Canada, is looking to hire a Cloud / AWS Data Architect for a long-term contract opportunity. Iris is a Canadian multinational financial services company and the largest bank by market capitalization. The bank serves over 17 million clients and has more than 89,000 employees worldwide, providing a full range of banking, investing, asset management, and risk‑management products and services. Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Duration: Long Term Responsibilities Design, provision, and implement end-to-end data solutions leveraging AWS cloud services. Lead infrastructure architecture, collaborate with cloud engineering teams, and drive deployment in modern containerized environments (EKS/ECS). Collaborate with cloud engineering and architecture teams to define and design scalable data infrastructure solutions on AWS. Architect, provision, and optimize cloud resources for high-performance ETL/data workflows. Build and automate data pipelines using AWS S3, Glue, and Redshift services. Integrate AWS security, access management, and monitoring best practices into ETL workflows. Develop, test, and optimize ETL/code solutions in Python for cloud-based data processing. Apply software engineering practices for robust, maintainable, and reusable cloud codebases. Architect and deploy solutions in Kubernetes (EKS) or ECS, focusing on container orchestration, scaling, and resilience. Set up CI/CD pipelines for container image management and automated deployment. Work closely with cloud infrastructure teams, architects, and business stakeholders for requirement gathering and solution presentation. Document architectural decisions, review designs, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards. Required Skills & Experience Advanced hands‑on experience with AWS services: S3, Glue, Redshift. Proficiency in Python for data engineering, automation, and scripting. Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure provisioning (Terraform, CloudFormation preferred). Expertise in container platforms: Kubernetes (EKS), ECS; architectural exposure preferred. Experience designing scalable, secure, and cost‑efficient cloud solutions. Good communication skills for working with cross‑functional stakeholders.
