Job Description The Core Platform Party1 Product Group is responsible for maintaining & developing foundational applications that support TD\'s customer book of record. These systems manage customer demographic and relationship data, including customer-to-account relationships, contact permissions, Do Not Solicit preferences, and regulatory compliance. We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager candidate with Mainframe Technical Skills Cobol, JCL, DB2, IMS-DB, IMS-DC, SAS, SQL, CA7, DFSORT, TSO, IDz, Endevor, Insync. An Ideal candidate will have experience in managing critical mainframe applications. You will play a key role designing, developing, and optimizing our applications while ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership within POD Accountabilities Note: The following are responsibilities of the Engineering Manager role. Utilize advanced technological expertise to advise on solution options, provide leadership in designing comprehensive technical solutions, support development teams throughout the delivery process, and contribute to achieving desired business outcomes. Participate in business planning discussions and creating solution options, contribute to defining the technology delivery approach, and leverage synergies across the various teams and applications to support the deployment of innovative products and software solutions Provide estimates for new projects and initiatives for the development / design component of the plan working with relevant team members / stakeholders Act as an expert to ensure compliance with enterprise and segment standards (e.g. TOM; enterprise assets) Identify opportunities to minimize and reduce costs in collaboration with TAO Drive and execute on target state and roadmap-based investments Execute on strategic solution planning activities or POC Regular reviews with peers for alignment of technical deliverables throughout detailed design and development phase to ensure quality adherence and identify gaps or redesign requirements as needed Comply with well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices and standards and project management disciplines, business technology architecture, and risk and production capacity - including development of project documentation of system requirements, estimates of scope and cost, etc. Assist in the identification of opportunities to minimize cost, provide recommendations and/or deliver corresponding strategic solutions to support cost effectiveness and to enhance stakeholder experience As a people leader, responsible for creating positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest Provide thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge for software engineering best practices and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit; Build succession planning, provide coaching, mentoring and guidance to junior team members, conduct performance reviews Continuously enhance knowledge / expertise in own area and keep current with leading-edge technologies, emerging trends / developments and grow expertise of the business, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques Prioritize and manage own workload to deliver quality results and meet timelines Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship of others, by sharing knowledge and experiences and leveraging quality engineering best practices. Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders to develop productive working relationships. Job Requirements Domain Knowledge/Mainframe Batch experience Development of JCL jobs and subprocesses that connect to DB2 and IMS databases Scheduling of jobs Deployment of developed components Support of batch automated job stream Domain Knowledge/Mainframe Online experience Development or support of 3270 screens (aka green-screens), which execute in a IMS-DC (or CICS) transaction environment and connect to DB2 or IMS-DB databases for maintenance of an application book of record data. Development of transactional sub-processes which are callable from API or Webservice for maintenance of the same. Strength in developing effective relationships with different business units, portfolio and project managers, vendors. Ability to present and make recommendations to senior management Enthusiasm and willingness to foster a culture that encourages productivity, innovation, process improvement, teamwork and a high level of professionalism. Education and Experience Undergraduate Bachelors Engineering Degree in Computer Science/IT or Graduate degree in Engineering streams or relevant work experience 10+ years of mainframe technology experience handling design, development and delivery with developers, 5+ years of Technology lead experience with exposure and involvement in large-scale or transformation projects requiring complex technology integration design Deep understanding of Cobol and how it is used for batch and online (green screen) applications. Knowledge and understanding of Endevour, JCL and Veracode scanning Working knowledge of IMS and DB2 database structures Datasets(files) and tape storage (GDGs) zOS and IMS transactions (back end processing for APIs and webservices) Batch scheduling, EBX/Tibco mailboxes for file processing Understanding of Mainframe access - NPIDs, UID strings ServiceNow experience Nice to have Knowledge of OCP (one click print) and how it integrates with Mainframe Knowledge of test sets and code deployments, test data Who We Are TD is one of the world\'s leading global financial institutions and is the fifth largest bank in North America by branches/stores.
