HDR is looking for a Senior GIS Analyst to join our team developing and implementing geospatial solutions for transportation, water and resources business group clients and projects Duties include working in a professional environment with a team of engineers, environmental scientists and transportation planners The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, both technical and non-technical, is required Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of GIS, expertise with Esri software We are interested in someone who is passionate, self-motivated, and has a strong desire to research, learn, and grow as a GIS professional; someone who can appropriately apply technology to solve problems and provide services to our clients Successful candidates will possess cartographic proficiency and be able to develop database schemas and analysis methods needed to support project goals and efficiently use web resources to research and problem solve Our projects include geospatial solutions for desktop, web, and mobile.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior GIS Analyst, we'll count on you to: Independently organize, conceptualize and conduct large, advanced spatial analyses as team member and GIS task manager Work with non-GIS project managers and clients to design and effectively employ geospatial solutions on regulatory and permitting elements of infrastructure and transportation planning projects Serve as a GIS lead for project marketing, budget development and resources scheduling Prepares quality assurance plans for GIS task and oversees their implementation Supervise the GIS work of other professionals and ensure the successful completion of GIS projects or GIS tasks Create maps, databases, and other deliverables on short notice Develop vector and raster spatial analysis models using Spatial ModelBuilder, Python or other GIS scripting languages Develop geodatabase schemas and analysis methods needed to support project goals Develop and support web GIS applications using Esri Web App Builder, Operations Dashboards, Story Maps, Collector, Survey 123 within ArcGIS Online platform Create maps, databases and other deliverables on short notice Communicate and collaborate with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, both technical and non-technical Perform other duties as needed


Required Qualifications

BA/BS in Geography, Geospatial Science, Geographic Information Systems, Planning, Environmental Sciences, or relevant 10 years practical GIS experience; an advanced degree in relevant field may offset 5 years of experience Extensive experience with Esri Desktop ArcGIS software, scripting and extensions (ModelBuilder, Python, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Linear Referencing, etc.) Extensive experiencing with ArcGIS Online platform and associated products such as Web App Builder, Operations Dashboard, Story Maps, Collector for ArcGIS and Survey 123 Experience with ArcGIS Pro Extensive experience in map generation and data visualization Extensive experience applying geospatial concepts, methodologies and solutions on transportation projects Expertise with developing geodatabases and schemas (domains, subtypes), Access/SQL and other databases Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Critical thinking and problem solving skills with attention to detail and effective time management Ability to multi-task, stay organized and responsive to meet ambitious client deadlines Must have a collaborative team attitude and strong interpersonal skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

GISP Certification a plus Esri Certification a plus Experience using Adobe Illustrator or related graphic software for enhancing quality of GIS maps Familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal for ArcGIS Server preferred Experience in scripting, database management, and software development is a plus Local candidate
