SUMMARYThe Manager of Data Analytics focuses on working hands-on with the team as a builder, leading the analytics team in delivering high-quality data insights and supporting business decision-making. This role manages Team Leads, BI Analysts, and Data Engineers, translating strategic vision into actionable analytics projects, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making. The role will possess a strong technical background in data infrastructure, analytics engineering, and statistical modeling, combined with exceptional leadership and communication skills.RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and Execute Data Analytics StrategyCreate and implement a comprehensive analytics strategy that aligns with Metro Supply Chain's business objectives and growth targets.Identify opportunities to leverage data for innovation and operational efficiency across supply chain functions (warehousing, transportation, contract packaging).Lead and Develop Analytics TeamManage, mentor, and coach a team of analytics professionals (team leads, BI analysts, data engineers), fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.Optimize team structure and workflows to maximize performance and support business objectives.Conduct regular 1:1s and provide guidance for professional growth and skill development.Deliver Actionable Data Insights and ReportingOversee the creation of timely, relevant reports and dashboards that provide insights into sales trends, customer behaviors, inventory management, and other KPIs.Ensure data-driven recommendations are clear and actionable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Design and Maintain Analytical DashboardsDevelop and maintain dashboards that promote data-driven decision-making across the business.Uphold data integrity through systematic quality checks and collaborate with data engineering to resolve inconsistencies.Proactively seek and integrate new data sources to refine decision-making processes.Drive Advanced Analytics InitiativesApply advanced analytics techniques (predictive modeling, segmentation, machine learning) to uncover deeper insights into customer preferences, demand forecasting, and process optimization.Champion the adoption of analytics and data-driven practices across departments.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Operations, IT, HR, Finance, and other teams to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions.Translate complex analytics concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.Team Management & Continuous LearningReview staffing plans, work schedules, and oversee daily operations to ensure optimal team capacity and resource allocation.Stay updated with the latest trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in analytics and BI.Share insights and coach team members to foster continuous improvement and skill development.EDUCATIONAdvanced degree (MBA, PhD, Masters) in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Data Science)EXPERIENCE5+ years of analytics experience and team management of 5 or more analysts.Empathic and emotional intelligence to lead a diverse team at varying stages of their careers, grooming individuals and doing 1:1's to reach their full potential.COMPETENCIESCustomer CentricityFostering CultureCollaborationProblem Solving & Decision MakingManaging Through ChangeDeveloping Self & OthersPlanning & Results OrientationCommunicationAlways Improving MindsetBusiness & Financial SavvyHEALTH & SAFETY:Follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act including Safety, Violence and Harassment lawsWork in a healthy and safe manner following Metro's policies and proceduresReport any hazards you find in the workplace to your supervisorMust not put other workers at risk by your actions
